The Pioneer Area Ministerial Association (PAMA) is an organization comprised of the pastors in the greater Pioneer area. By meeting together monthly, we have opportunity to better learn about each other and our different local churches. PAMA encourages cooperative efforts between our churches to combat a spirit of divisiveness and competition that we have heard about or experienced among churches in other places, not here.
To convey this spirit of cooperation to our churches and our community, PAMA organizes multiple events during the year that encourage participation from all of our area churches. PAMA organizes an annual baccalaureate service for the North Central High School graduates. Through the leadership of Pastor Steve Smith, PAMA also organizes a gathering at the gazebo on the National Day of Prayer. In addition to these two events, PAMA also sponsors community worship services on Good Friday and the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving.
This year’s Community Thanksgiving Service will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 20 at the Pioneer United Methodist Church located at 706 Baubice Street in Pioneer. The worship music will be led by a praise team from the Bridgewater Community Church; Pastor Gene McBride from the Pioneer Church of the Nazarene will deliver the sermon; and members of other local churches will lead in other parts of the worship. Refreshments will be provided by the host church following the service.
Through donations and offerings, PAMA also provides some emergency financial assistance for those who attend a PAMA-member church. All donations received at the Thanksgiving service will be given to that fund.
As we see the leaves continue to turn and to Fall, we see evidence of change all around us. While change can often be scary or at least uncomfortable, those of us who have experienced the wonderful change that God has wrought in our lives should be “thankful for a change”.
We hope you will join us for this special community worship service.
