Daniel Fenstermaker, age 78, of Edon, Ohio, died at 6:33 P.M. on Friday, August 21, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he was a patient after an extended illness. Mr. Fenstermaker was a mechanic for forty-four years and long time owner and operator of Dan’s Service in Edon. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Edon and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie, 2233 in Bryan, Ohio. Dan enjoyed collecting cuckoo clocks, wind-up toys and fishing.

Daniel Fenstermaker was born in Henry County, Ohio, on November 1, 1936, the son of Dana Martin and Evelyn Rachael (Jennings) Fenstermaker. He married Vanda L. Keppler on August 17, 1958, in Edon and she preceded him in death on May 18, 1993.

Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda (Stu) Short, of Edgerton, Ohio; one son, Dennis Fenstermaker, of Bryan, Ohio; six grandchildren, C.J. Short, Nick Short and Brooke Short, all of Houston, Texas, Tom (Kelly) Short, of Archbold, Ohio, Corey Fenstermaker, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Abby (Andy) Hruby, of Hamilton, Indiana; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Fenstermaker, of Napoleon, Ohio; and four sisters, Barbara (Ralph) Brown, of Defiance, Ohio, Phyllis Kunsman, of Bryan, Ohio, Linda (Stan) Saxton, of Montpelier, Ohio and Martha (Jim) Beavers, of Toledo, Ohio. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Larry, Ed, Fred and Robert Fenstermaker.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 204 West Indiana Street, Edon. Services will be held on Thursday,


August 27, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Edon, with Reverend Roger Marlow officiating. Interment will follow in the Edon Cemetery.
