Darlene “Dee” Gunn (1936-2023)

Darlene “Dee” Y. Gunn, 86, of Montpelier passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Fountain Park Inn and Villas, in Bryan.

She was born on July 9, 1936 in Montpelier to Lawrence M. and Julia M. (Leatherman) Tressler.

Dee graduated from Kunkle High School in 1954.  On Christmas Eve of 1958 she married Leland D. Gunn in Montpelier and he precedes her in death.

Dee worked for the National City Bank of Northwest Ohio for 33 years, retiring in 1991.

She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey and wife Pastor Mary Beth Smith-Gunn of Bryan, and Richard and wife Vanessa Gunn of Santee, California; son in-law Fred Psurny of Largo, Florida, eight grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren.

Darlene began a loving companionship with Norm Grines in 2011.  For the last twelve years, they were by each other’s side, providing support, companionship, happiness, and love.

The Gunn family would like to express our sincerest appreciation to Norm and the entire Grines family. Thank you for your kindness and welcoming her into your family.  Sincerely, the Gunn family.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee, four sons Dennis, David, Douglas and Brian Gunn, a daughter Susette Psurny, and two brothers Jimmy and Duane Tressler.

Visitation hours for Dee will be on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 4-7pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will be on Friday at the funeral home at 11 am with Pastor Mary Beth Smith-Gunn to officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.

In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Ohio Chapter.
