(1960 Graduate Of Swanton High School)

David Lee Warner, age 83, of Perrysburg and formerly of Peoria, Ariz., peacefully passed away under hospice care at St. Clare Commons in Perrysburg on Sunday, Jan. 25, 2026.

He was born in Wauseon, Ohio, on Dec. 13, 1942, to the late Carl L. Warner and Vernelda (Ingraham) Warner.

David graduated from Swanton High School in 1960 and later attended Andrews Barber College, where he received his certification as a licensed barber.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army as an engineer and was honorably discharged in 1972.

On Oct. 19, 1985, he married Lou Ann Calir, and together they shared more than 35 years of marriage until her passing on Jan. 29, 2021.

Before retiring, David devoted his career to the art of barbering, a trade he truly loved. He served customers at Greens Barber Shop in Delta; County Barber Shop in Swanton; Styles Inn in Toledo; and the Barber Shop for Men in Scottsdale, Ariz.

David enjoyed golfing, racing—especially NASCAR—and cheering on his Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is survived by his daughter, Ann (Brian) Newton of Perrysburg; his son, Scott (Kam) Warner of Perrysburg; and his beloved grandchildren, JP Newton, Chase (Addison) Newton, and Drew Newton; and Grayson, Del, and Lola Warner. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Lou Ann, David was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Warner.

A private service will be held at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 State Highway 109, Delta. Private interment, next to his wife, will be held at Wauseon Union Cemetery in Wauseon, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish in David’s memory. “You only live once, and if you do it right, once is enough and you’ll always get more than you can give.”

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
