Delta High School Celebrates Homecoming 2023

The Delta High School celebrated this year’s Homecoming this past Friday, October 20th. Those in the Homecoming Court met at the high school and departed with the band at 6:10 p.m.

Following the parade, students were driven out onto the field where they were then introduced to all those in attendance.

The freshman attendant was Sophie Ford, Sophie is the daughter of Mike and Jessica Ford. Sophie is a member of the volleyball team and can’t wait to play softball for the Panthers this spring.

Sophie is also a part of the Spanish Club, Kindness Club, and serves as the Vice President of the freshman class.

When she isn’t baking or traveling, Sophie enjoys going to the lake and spending time with her friends and family.

Sophie plans to attend Miami of Ohio after graduating high school and pursue a degree in the medical field. Her favorite part of high school so far has been attending the football games with her friends.

This year she is looking forward to building relationships with her teachers, coaches, and bonding more with her classmates.

Sophie feels very honored to be on the homecoming court this year and would like to thank the Delta High School students for giving her the opportunity to be the freshman homecoming attendant. Sophie’s escort was freshman Kade Lintermoot, son of Jeff and Amy Lintermoot.

The sophomore attendant was Mya Martinez, Mya is the daughter of Anna and Tony Martinez. Mya is a member of the DHS volleyball team, softball team, and possibly the basketball team this winter.

She is also an active member of both the Spanish Club and Kindness Club. Outside of school Mya enjoys practicing softball and playing for her travel team, The Stingerzz, who are based out of Northwest Ohio.

Mya is also a member of her youth group at the Delta Church of Christ and attends Cedar Creek Church every Sunday.

In her free time Mya loves being with her family and friends, especially driving around with her senior bestie Alani. After graduation, Mya would like to play softball in college while studying to become a nurse for animals.

Her favorite part of high school so far has been attending the football games every Friday night as well as playing sports.

Mya is looking forward to all of the upcoming dances, assemblies and especially this year’s softball season. She would like to thank everyone at DHS for the opportunity to be part of the homecoming court this year. Mya’s escort was freshman Jacob Walter, son of Robert Walter and Amy Bublick.

The junior attendant was Evelyn Demaline, Evelyn is the daughter of Matt and Daphne Demaline. She is a member of the varsity soccer team as well as a member of the track and field team.

She is involved in the Kindness Club, Spanish Club, Art club, National Honors Society as well as a member of Sources of Strength. Evelyn also serves as the secretary of the junior class.

Evelyn is also active in the Trinity Lutheran youth group. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer with her friends.

She also enjoys reading or listening to music on late night drives with her friends. Evelyn would like to earn her bachelor’s degree in economics and eventually become a real estate broker.

Her favorite memory of high school came this fall when her soccer team defeated Archbold. Evelyn is really looking forward to her junior prom this spring.

She would also like to thank everyone who voted for her to represent her class on this year’s court. Evelyn’s escort was exchange student, Guillermo Crespo, whose host parents are Jordyn and Krysta Barrington.

The junior attendant was Peyton Taylor, Peyton is the daughter of Dean and Justine Taylor. Peyton is a member of the varsity soccer team. She is also very active in both the Spanish Club and kindness Club.

Peyton loves soccer and you can find her playing year-round, however when she isn’t practicing, she loves shopping and hanging out with her family and friends.

After graduating from DHS, Peyton would like to attend college to pursue a degree in psychiatry or psychology.

So far, her favorite memory of high school has been being best friends with Olivia Burkhart. Peyton is looking forward to creating new memories from her last two years of high school.

She would also like to thank her peers for giving her the opportunity to be on this year’s homecoming court. Peyton’s escort was freshman Alec Koder, son of Aaron and Jen Koder.

The senior attendant was Ashlyn Lamb, Ashlyn is the daughter of Ryan and Abbey Lamb. Ashlyn is a member of the varsity volleyball, basketball, and track teams.

Ashlyn is also the president of the DHS Band where she plays the trombone. Ashlyn is also a member of the Kindness Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Sources of Strength, National Honors Society as well as Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America.

Last year Ashlyn was a cast member of the musical production of the Addam’s family. She is also an active member of True North Church.

Ashlyn’s hobbies include reading and cooking. In her free time, she loves hanging out with her amazing friends. Next year Ashlyn plans to attend a four-year college where she would like to major in social work.

Her favorite memory of high school came her junior year when her team won the PowderPuff football game.

Ashlyn plans on soaking up her last year of high school with the people she loves most. Ashlyn’s escort was Joel Arroyo Sierra, son of Jesus Arroyo and Veronica Sierra Arroyo.

The senior attendant was Teagan Postlewait, Teagan is the daughter of Tim and Susan Postlewait. Teagan is a varsity member of the soccer and track teams.

She is looking forward to basketball season this year as she will be participating for the first time as a member of the cheerleading squad.

Teagan is also active in the Art Club, Spanish Club, Kindness Club and Student Council where she is a representative for the senior class.

In her free time Teagan enjoys baking and doing arts and crafts with friends. Her best memories of high school come from her four years on the soccer team where she says her team feels like another family.

Next year Teagan is looking forward to attending Bowling Green State University where she plans on studying early childhood education. She is most excited about her senior prom later this year.

Teagan’s escort was one of her best friends Xavier Worley, son of Angel Jimenez and Tiffany Worley.

The senior attendant and Homecoming Queen was Danica Ford, Danica is the daughter of Doug and Alicia Ford. Danica is a 3-year member of the soccer team as well as a 4-year member of the track team.

She is a member of Art Club, Kindness Club, sources of strength and National Honor Society. Danica also serves as the president of not only the senior class, but also the Spanish Club and the organization students against destructive decisions.

She is also the vice president of the student council. In her free time Danica enjoys baking, reading, and traveling. She also enjoys spending her summer months going to the lake.

After high school Danica is planning to attend Miami University where she would like to major in marketing or pre-law.

Danica has had a lot of great memories from high school, but her favorite memories come from the lock-in held every spring.

She is hoping to make the most of her last year at DHS by participating in everything she can and getting closer with new people. Danica’s escort was Justin Ruple, son of Nate and Tracy Ruple.
