Delta Senior Cole Mattin has signed a letter of intent to continue his education and join the wrestling program at the University of Michigan, reuniting with his brother Drew who signed with the Wolverines two years ago.

“Drew wrestling up there was a big influence on my decision,” said Cole. “I’ve been wrestling with him since I was five-years old and I wanted to continue that.” Coming into his final high school season, Cole is the defending State Champion in the 126-pound weight class. He is also a three-time State Placer, a three-time NWOAL Champion and was named the 2018 Outstanding Wrestler at the State Tournament.

Academically, Cole is a National Honor Society Member, is in the Top Ten of the 2019 Graduating Class and carries a 3.92 GPA. By wrestling at Michigan, he will be part of the nation’s top wrestling conference with the Big Ten having won the last 12 national titles and having seven runners-up in that same time frame.
