Donald L. Tilse, age 79, of Delta and lifelong resident of Fulton County, peacefully passed away with his wife by his bedside at Toledo Hospital, Sunday afternoon, September 18, 2022.

He was born at his parents’ Wauseon home on August 25, 1943.  After attending York School, Don attended Wauseon High School, while working on the family farm.

On August 12, 1967, he married Mary Lou Seedorf and together they were blessed with their daughter, Dena Elizabeth.

Don was a farmer all his life; mostly growing grain, but also growing tomatoes and raising hogs early in his career.

Don will always be remembered for his quick wit and clever comebacks. He truly enjoyed spending time in Michigan, where he spent summers at Mullett Lake, went mushroom hunting, snowmobiling, or taking in the scenery and fall colors.

Don enjoyed driving his convertible and motorcycles, but nothing meant more to him than his family.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Lou Tilse; daughter, Dena (John) Graham of Napoleon; special grandson, Caleb J. Graham and many loving nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents Clarence and Elizabeth (Lind) Tilse, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Glen Tilse and sister, Ruby Gerken.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta.   A funeral service celebrating Don’s life will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 410 Taylor St., Delta, Ohio 43515.  Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery near Delta.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Don’s memory.

Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
