Donna O’Brien (1939-2019)

Donna Darlean (Beck) O’Brien, 80, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away on September 2, 2019, at St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, Ohio. 
The daughter of Bessie (Wirick) and Delbert Beck, she was born on September 1, 1939 in Cooney, Ohio. Donna graduated from Montpelier High School in 1957.

She worked at Vistron Plastics for several years prior to providing in home daycare services. After retiring from daycare services, she worked part-time for Sears and John’s Donut Shop. While a young mother, Donna expressed her creative side through directing the Starlettes Drill Team, square-dancing, and creating award-winning Jubilee and Halloween costumes for her children, nieces, and nephews. In later years, she painted, actively participated in the local arts club, and created custom wedding cakes. She was an avid skier, bowler and golfer. Doting grandmother was a phrase coined to describe Donna.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul E. O’Brien, Jr., who she married on March 9, 1974. She is survived by her children, Timothy M. Saneda (Lisa) of Lemon Grove, CA, Thomas S. Saneda (Laura) of Bryan, OH, Tori M. Saneda of Lake Forest Park, WA, and Theresa S. Durbin of Bryan, OH; step-daughters Tracy M. O’Brien (Robert Bolenbaugh) of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Teresa (Terri) M. Morr (James) of Bryan, OH; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and four great grandchildren; twin brother Donald D. Beck (Faith) of Camden, MI, and sister Cheryl L. Wagner (Michael) of Cedar, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Denver, Bette, Patty Jean, and Bennie.

Visitation for Donna will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio.  A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Donna will be laid to rest next to her husband at Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan.
