Doris A. ClarkDoris A. Clark, 100, of Pioneer passed away early Tuesday morning at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. She was born on December 27, 1915 in Williams County to David and Elizabeth (Smith) Burlew.

On June 6, 1936 Doris married Vard A. Clark in Indianapolis and he preceded her in death on December 31, 1987. She was a homemaker and was also a waitress at Spokes Diner for 14 years. Doris enjoyed going to the Montpelier Senior Center. She loved to cook for her family, sew and garden.

She is survived by eight grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter Rosalie J. Pettit, son Richard L. Clark, and siblings Nina P. Burke, Clela L. Holt, Lyle Burlew, Virginia Steele, and Beatrice S. Moore.


Graveside services will be on Friday, May 6th at 11am at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer with Pastor Mike Wilder to officiate. There will be a private family visitation at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Montpelier Senior Center “Activity Fund”. Online condolences can be left at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com
