Doris Mocherman (1939-2020)

Doris Ann Mocherman, 80, of Montpelier, passed away on March 14, 2020 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center in Defiance. She was born on September 12, 1939 in Montpelier to Leonard J. and Virginia (Stoy) Cogswell, Sr.

Doris graduated from Montpelier High School in 1958. On June 7, 1959 she married William E. Mocherman in Brdigewater Township and he survives.

For 30 plus years, Doris worked at the Montpelier Auto Auction and she also worked for Ohio Art in Bryan. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, cooking and baking. Doris especially loved her grandchildren.


She is survived by her husband, William E. Mocherman, Sr.; three children, Debbie (Jerry) Allgire of Bowling Green, OH, William E. (Sandy) Mocherman, Jr., of Bryan and Ken (Kim) Mocherman, Ada, MI; three grandchildren, Steven (Fayth) Allgire, Logan and Carson Mocherman; two great grandchildren, William “Liam” Allgire and Remmington Allgire; one sister, Nora Heaton of Montpelier; and one brother, Harold “Dean” (Connie) Cogswell of Montpelier.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Leonard J. “Jr” Cogswell.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 2-8 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Wilder to officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.

Memorial contributions may be made to Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice or NW Ohio Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be left at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
