Dorothy J. Timmons (1931 – 2017)

Dorothy J. Timmons, age 85, of Wauseon, went to be meet her Lord and Savior Saturday morning, January 28, 2017, at the Genoa Retirement Village in Genoa, Ohio. She was born on February 26, 1931 to Harry and Verna (Rettig) Brink, near Holgate, Ohio. She graduated from Holgate High School in 1949. She had lived in Holgate and Archbold, but most of her life in Wauseon.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wauseon and had taught Sunday School and helped with the Awana Program for many years. She retired from Western District Court in Fulton County in 1996, where she had served as a clerk for 30 ½ years. She then worked as Pastor Ron Shipley’s secretary for eight years.

Dorothy is survived by two children; Kim J. Young of Jasper, Georgia, Becky (Ed) Harpel of Pemberville; grandchildren, Austin Young, Matt (Lindsey) Young, Luke (Ashley) Harpel, Jeremy Harpel, Jamie (Matt) Fager, Kori (Ronnie) Bowers; great-grandchildren, Emma, Jace, Grant, Brayden, Westin, Dani, and Rowan. She is also survived by two sisters, Janet L. Cooper of Swanton and Linda R. (Gary) Gessner of Napoleon. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son, Danny Lee Young, great-granddaughter, Addison, half-brother, Charles F. Brink, and sister, Margaret Wolf.

Visitation for Dorothy will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at the First Baptist Church, where the funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 P.M. Pastor John Shirley and Pastor Ron Shipley will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Archbold Cemetery.


The family requests that memorial contributions be given to First Baptist Church, Genoa Retirement Village, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.
