Dorothy Krauss (1929 – 2018)

Dorothy Mae Krauss, 88, of Reading, passed away Monday, April 16, 2018 at Drews Country living in Hillsdale.  She was born June 14, 1929 in Thompson, Missouri to Arthur and Mabel (Vance) Steinke.  Dorothy married Jay E. Krauss Sr. on February 29, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 2006.

She graduated from Wauseon High School in 1947 and had been employed with the Hillsdale College food service for 25 years.  Dorothy had been a member of various Church of the Nazarenes since 1959. She is survived by her two sons, Jay E. (Elizabeth) Krauss of Sartell, MN and Lee R. (Joan) Krauss of Hillsdale; grandchildren, Angie (Jason) Lane, J.J. Krauss, Andrew Krauss and Ruth Krauss Kennedy and great grandchild, Clayton Lane.

Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Krauss be Saturday, April 28 at 12:00 Noon at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading with Reverend Alan Fenstermaker officiating.  Interment will follow in Maplewood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends for visitation Friday, April 27 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home and on Saturday at 11AM until the time of service.
