Dorothy May Walter, age 105, of Pioneer, died on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. She was born May 11, 1915, to the late Iler and Osie Hutchinson Fausey.
Dorothy was a 1933 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. In September 1934, she married Charles A. Clark, with whom she had five daughters. They divorced in 1957 when divorce was not a common event. Dorothy finished raising her daughters as a single mother. In 1971, she married Berton Walter and they had many happy years camping, traveling and wintering in Texas as snowbirds.
Dorothy was a homemaker, Girl Scout leader, foster parent and worked several years at Atlas Engine Works in Gibsonburg. She was a member of Pioneer Methodist Church, Pioneer Senior Citizens, Ohio Eastern Star in Fremont, and Past Worthy Matron of Gibsonburg Chapter and the Etudier Club.
Dorothy will be greatly missed by her daughters, Ann Lane, Janet (Paul) Pertner and Kay Oldham; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; and her constant companion, Sammy the cat. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Berton Walter; daughters, Carol Keeseeker and Betty Hughes; great-granddaughter, Carlie Perkins; great-grandson, Logan Keesecker; brother, Iler Fausey; and son-in-law, Tom Lane.
Services will be private but livestreamed at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2020, located on Dorothy’s obituary page on the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home website.
