The Edgerton Local Board of Education met for its regular meeting on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 7:00 a.m. in the Annex Board Room.

Members present included Lyn Bowsher, Amanda Giesige, Nick Hug, Robert Siebenaler, and Bill Swank. Superintendent Ben Wilhelm and Treasurer William Blakely were also in attendance.

The board began by approving the meeting agenda and waiving the reading and signing of the September 15, 2025, meeting minutes.

Financial reports, bills for payment, and appropriation modifications for September were approved. Investments continued to increase with interest as the month progressed.

Two new student activity funds were established: “STEAM Career Tech” and “Students in Trades,” aimed at enhancing educational opportunities in career and technical training.

Superintendent Ben Wilhelm shared updates, including the Four County Career Center meeting, progress on the bus barn project, and details of the upcoming Veterans Day Assembly scheduled for Friday, November 7, at 9:00 a.m. Williams County Sheriff Thomas Kochert will serve as guest speaker.

Wilhelm also noted that the district report card is now available online. The next board meeting was rescheduled to November 10, 2025, to avoid conflict with the OSBA Capital Conference taking place November 16-18, 2025.

The board approved the first reading of NEOLA policy changes and the 2025-2026 Interagency Agreement with the Northwestern Ohio Community Action Commission.

This includes collaborations with Williams County Head Start, Family & Children First, the County Board of Developmental Disabilities, and several local school districts.

Additionally, Model Policies and Procedures for Special Education were approved for continued use.

Personnel actions included the acceptance of Zoe Scott’s resignation as musical advisor. Supplemental contracts for Greg Jennings (Assistant Varsity Girls’ Basketball Coach) and Rick Herman (Assistant Varsity Boys’ Wrestling) were accepted. Hayden Herman was recognized as a volunteer with the athletic department’s wrestling program.

The meeting adjourned at 7:20 a.m. following a motion by Bill Swank, seconded by Lyn Bowsher.
