The Edgerton Chamber of Commerce recently held a productive meeting that laid the groundwork for several upcoming community events and initiatives. Key discussions focused on enhancing the village’s social calendar, with significant plans for the 2024 Trunk or Treat and Christmas Parade.

The Trunk or Treat event, scheduled for October 31st, promises to be a fun-filled evening featuring the Edgerton High School Band and other engaging activities.

Thanks to generous contributions from Edgerton Main Stop, Walmart, and the Men’s Group from LCC, attendees will enjoy cider and donuts, with special support during the Costume Contest. Sponsored by Dream Haven, Fleo’s Flicks, U-Haul, and the Chamber of Commerce, the contest will be judged by LifeWise Academy.

Registration forms for Trunk or Treat and the Trick-or-Treat map will be accessible online, with QR codes on village posters and links shared on Facebook. Additionally, residents can contact the village office to be included.

Looking ahead to the Christmas Parade on November 30th, the Chamber expressed gratitude for the ongoing support from the Friends of the Library. Online registration for the parade is in the works, and Dennis will again don the Santa suit to benefit the Humane Society.

A pivotal moment in the meeting was the discussion about the Chamber’s future direction. Inspired by Jeff’s report on Butler’s Main Street Association, the Chamber is contemplating transitioning to a Main Street Association model.

This shift could unlock new opportunities and align the organization more closely with community development goals. Additional details on this potential change will be shared soon.

The Chamber also began planning for the Business of the Year/Industry of the Year awards, with considerations to expand categories.

Overall, the meeting was a testament to the members’ active participation and commitment to fostering a vibrant community. With the plans and support in place, the Chamber is poised to elevate Edgerton as a thriving place for business, work, and living.
