N0584520WEST UNITY – The Hilltop Lady Cadets battled the Edgerton Lady Bulldogs to a 30-30 stalemate over the final three periods of their February 9 tilt. The first period though, that is what did in the hometown girls.

Edgerton came out with guns blazing in the early going, more than tripling up on the shell-shocked hometown girls. A 19-6 run provided the cushion needed for the visitors to escape town with a 49-36 win.

Hannah Bleikamp rained down a team-high 15 for Hilltop, while Emily Armbruster  added a half dozen. Sam Lillemon and Cierra Carpenter fired off 5 points apiece, Jackie Smith was held to 3 points and Kailey Creamer had 2. Lillemon reeled in 11 rebounds, and Armbruster had 4 steals.

SCORING BY QUARTER:
Edgerton  19  12  9  9 – 49
Hilltop  6  10  8  12 – 36
