THE VILLAGE REPORTER
The Edgerton Board of Education met for more than three hours April 11, but two of those were in executive session.
The board moved through the agenda is quick fashion passing several resolutions and listening to reports from Superintendent Andy Morr and the high school and elementary school principals.
Among the highlights, the board
-Commended new National Honor Society members for the 2015-16 school year: Dakota Freeman, Connor Landis and Jake Siebenaler.
-Commended students, staff and community members for participating in the Red Cross Blood Drive March 4.
-Approved Zeth McNally as a volunteer for the baseball team.
-Approved the voluntary re-assignment of Lindsey Bever to first grade beginning with the 2016-17 school year.
-Approved 2016-2017 supplemental contracts, volunteers and chaperones, contingent upon pending pre-employment requirements, if applicable:
SUPPLEMENTAL CONTRACTS
Nicole Thiel as varsity volleyball coach; Carl Sonneberger as assistant varsity football coach and Evan Kill, Kraig Bostelman and Blaine Prince as junior high football coaches.
VOLUNTEERS

-Approved the addition of Rachelle Rowlison to the 2015-2016 Edgerton non-certified staff sub list.
-Approved the hiring of LuAnn Swary as an assistant testing proctor at a hourly rate of $25.
The superintendent recommended the following cafeteria prices for 2016-17:

Approve 2016-2017 book fees for grades:

Grades 7-8 – $70 ($60 plus $10 class due fee)
Grades 9-12 – $85 ($75 plus $10 class due fee)
-Approve the attendance of Kalley Schaefer, selected students and chaperones (Scott and Jodel Freeman and Michael Schaefer) to the FFA State Convention in Columbus, Ohio May 4-6.
-Accept the resignation of Brenda Coffman effective April 4.
-Accept the resignation of Karla Stark for the purpose of retirement effective July 1.
-Approve 2015-2016 supplemental contracts, volunteers and chaperones, contingent upon pending pre-employment requirements, if applicable
Approve Kenneth “Scott” Cheek as a volunteer junior high football coach for next fall.

Elementary Kindergarten Music Concert – 2:15 p.m. May 18. Alicia Krill was commended with preparing the students for the performance. As always the community is very supportive of the music department and loves this concert.
