The Edgerton Tree Commission met early at 7:30 a.m., June 6th, to review and advance several initiatives aimed at improving tree care and expanding the village’s green infrastructure.

Among the primary items discussed was an evolution of a new tree planting initiative, part of the village’s broader commitment to enhance public spaces.

The commission also reviewed strategies for the pruning of mature trees to support their continued health and longevity.

A special emphasis was placed on the importance of training young trees to develop as strong and resilient as possible.

The meeting also included a discussion on methods to better protect trees and the surrounding soil, with the goal of fostering a more sustainable environment. To ensure effective implementation, all work will be carried out in quadrants, beginning the week of July 7th.

In addition to these immediate efforts, Edgerton is looking ahead to a larger-scale planting project that will introduce 58 new trees to the community.
