The Edgerton Village Council authorized staff Jan. 16 to advertise to hire a facilities maintenance person who would be responsible for janitorial and grounds maintenance for the town hall/Miller Park Shelter House and also work with the Street and Parks departments for leaf and brush pickup, mowing, etc.

The position will not exceed 28 hours per week at $12-$13, depending on experience.

The person appointed will report to the village administrator and will provide general janitorial duties; grounds maintenance; and work directly with street and parks departments.

A complete job description is available by contacting the administrator, at dawnf@edgerton-ohio.com or by visitingwww.edgerton-ohio.com
A valid driver’s license required.

The deadline is noon Jan. 27. The village of Edgerton is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

The council also authorized staff to advertise again for bids on the Depot Street Project.

The village has received $3,000 in donations for the Edgerton Area Foundation matching grant for the Parks. The village would like to raise another $2,000 to receive the $10,000 grant.

As of Jan. 13, the total grant stands at $6,000.

“We are hoping to raise the remaining funds by mid-January,” Administrator Dawn Fitzcharles stated in a press release. “With the generous support of the community, we will be able to purchase a scoreboard for the Pony League field, as well as, netting for three fields to prevent injuries from foul balls.”
