The Edon Board of Education met on the evening of November 20th at 5:30 p.m. for their November regular meeting.

The first thing approved by the board was the minutes from their October meeting, October’s financial reports, an amended certificate from the county auditor, donations and disposals presented on October 23rd, 2023, the October substitute teacher list, and the agenda as presented for that evening.

The treasurer’s report was accepted as presented, and then it was shared that the students recently had a productive career day, as well as interactive learning opportunities.

Enrollment has held steady this month, and news was shared that other municipalities are canceling schools during the eclipse on April 8th, 2024.

It was shared that the Veteran’s Day assembly was a huge success, with the students being respectful and enthusiastic about getting to honor Edon’s Veterans.

Work is being done on the baseball dugouts, as well as the runway for the pole vault, replacing the cracked rubber with a concrete slab topped with a rubber mat for the remainder of the year, with plans to later finish the project out.

The district’s five-year financial forecast was approved as presented for the fiscal years of 2024 – 2028, and a policy update to the NEOLA Board Policy Volume 42, No.1 was given its second reading as presented.

The resignation of two employees were accepted, and supplemental contracts for this school year were approved as presented.

Bid documents were approved for the purchase of a Bobcat UW56 Toolcat / comparable model to replace an aging one, and then the Edon Northwest Board of Education entered executive session to discuss matters relating to public employees.
