Edon Defeats Fayette On The Road

(September 16th, 2014)-FAYETTE: The girls of Edon made the bus trip down U.S. 20 to take on the Lady Eagles of Fayette. The BBC bout belonged to the Bombers, as they took down Fayette in straight sets.

Game 1 was the most competitive set of the night, with the home town Eagles battling the Edon girls evenly. The Lady Bombers were able to take the set, however, 25-23. The Lady Eagles continued to fight through the night, but Edon kept them at bay. Game 2 belonged to the Bombers as well 25-16. The third set saw Fayette fall to their guests 14-25, thus deciding the match.

Lady Bomber Kaela Gearhart spent the evening setting up her teammates, making an impressive 20 assists and 3 digs. Hannah Kaylor led the team with 9 kills to go along with her 1 dig and 1 ace. Alex Kiess had the most balanced day of the Edon girls, making 11 assists, 9 digs, 8 kills, and 1 ace.

Michaela Bates gave the Lady Eagles 9 kills, 6 digs, and an ace. Hannah Machacek led the team in assists with 14, in addition to 8 digs. McKenzee Schaffner made an astounding 33 digs in the losing effort.
