(June 1st, 2015) – WEST UNITY: In a low scoring affair, the Bombers of Edon were able to top the hosting Hilltop Cadets. Though they attempted to rally late, Hilltop came up just short of the comeback.

Edon topped Hilltop 3-2.

It was the Cadets who drew first blood, scoring a run in the bottom of the first. Following a scoreless second inning, the Bombers would take over the lead with a 2 run effort in the top of the third. They struck again in the fifth, adding another run to their total.

Down 2 runs with only two more innings to play, Hilltop began to chip away at their deficit. Putting up a run in the bottom of the sixth narrowed the differential between the two squads to but a single run. Yet the Edon defense was able to hold on, refusing the Cadets the opportunity to tie the contest.

Earning the victory for Edon was Landon Bloir. The senior-to-be remained on the mound for three innings, giving up no earned runs and only 1 hit. He struck out 7 Cadets, walking none. Braden Miller finished out the remaining four innings, allowing 1 earned run from 1 hit.

Nic Schieber took the loss for Hilltop, spending all seven innings on the mound. He gave up only 1 earned run off of 5 hits, striking out 5 Edon batters.

Trey Walz played excellent team baseball for the Bombers, earning a pair of RBIs despite not getting a hit. Bloir hit for a double, going 1 for 3 on the contest.

Isaac VanArsdalen and Levi Grant each earned an RBI apiece for the Cadets, with neither one registering a hit. Teammate Tyler Suboski hit a single on a 1 for 3 day.
