Laughter and excitement filled the North Central Elementary gymnasium on Saturday, April 4, as families gathered for the annual Pioneer Easter egg hunt.
Due to poor weather, the egg hunt location was changed from its normal location at Crommer Park. Registration began at 11 a.m., with just shy of 200 children taking part in the festivities.
The egg hunt was divided into age groups, giving each child a fair chance to join in the fun. Over 1,500 eggs were packed with prizes and scattered for the hunt. Thanks to the generous donations from local businesses, children had the chance to win a variety of prizes, including toys, bicycles, and other items suited for all ages.
The event also brought the community together beyond the hunt, as the Pioneer Fire Department served a free meal for families and attendees. The food was donated from Pioneer’s own Hometown Meat Market and the Pioneer Summer Recreation Program.
Despite the change in location, the spirit of the tradition remained the same: bringing families together for a day of full baskets, full stomachs, and plenty of smiles.
