Students at Edon High School are showcasing their Bomber Spirit this week as Homecoming 2012 has arrived.  The exciting week-long celebration ~ filled with a variety of activities ~ culminates October 5 when the Blue Bombers take on the Hilltop Cadets in gridiron action beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Friday night’s ‘Tis the Season for Bomber Victories festivities get underway with the Edon High School Marching Band, under the direction of Mrs. Stephanie Bonitz, stepping off at 6:10 p.m., leading the Homecoming Parade from Webster Street to Leanne Field where fired-up students and fans anxiously await.  Upon arrival, as is tradition, senior football players ~ Ben Brown, son of Bert and Lori Brown; Reid Bowling, son of Neil and Tammy Bowling; Matt Cook, son of Chris and Kathy Cook and Dakota Parrish, son of Steve and Tina Parrish ~ will accompany the Queen and her Court throughout the Pre-Game and Crowning Ceremonies.

Chosen last month by the student body to reign as 2012 Homecoming Queen is senior Sydney Stoll, daughter of Paul and Penny Stoll.  Comprising her Court are Senior Attendant ~ Andrea Headley, daughter of Joe and Shelly Headley; Junior Attendant ~ Jordan Matthews, daughter of Jessica and Kory Briner and Jeremy Matthews; Sophomore Attendant ~ Alexandra Kiess, daughter of Andrew and Carey Kiess and Freshman Attendant ~ Kaitlyn Sonneberger, daughter of Carl and Jan Sonneberger.  Alexis Dulle, daughter of Kevin and Laura Dulle, will serve as the Queen’s Flower Girl while Blake Baker, son of John and Jessica Baker, will be her Crown Bearer.  Helping preside over the festivities will be 2011 Homecoming Queen Gabby Siebenaler, daughter Nancy Myers.

Once teams head to the locker room, Halftime Ceremonies take center stage as the Homecoming Court is proudly escorted across the field by fathers, surrounded by the musical sounds of “The Greatest Love of All” presented by the EHS Marching Band.  Queen Sydney will pause to address the student body, Alumni, family and friends before returning to her place of honor and cheering on the Bombers for the remainder of the game.

While a Bomber victory will certainly cap off the night for dedicated fans, ‘Tis the Season for Bomber Victories festivities are set to continue the following evening at the Edon Schools Auditeria.  From 8:00-11:00 p.m., Saturday, October 6, Queen Sydney, Courtiers Andrea, Jordan, Alexandra and Kaitlyn ~ along with EHS students and guests ~ will dance the night away at the Semi-formal event hosted by the Class of 2014.  Entertainment will be provided by Music Pro DJ.

The Junior Class at Edon High School cordially invites all students, parents, alumni and friends of Edon High School to join them in celebrating Homecoming 2012.
