BRYAN – For the third time this season, the Edon Lady Bombers faced off against the Hicksville Lady Aces on October 20. They first met when the Lady Bombers defeated them in a tri-meet on September 1. On September 24, the Lady Aces were broomed out of The Hangar in straight sets.
On October 20, the same teams met, but with something more at stake…the Division IV Sectional Title. Edon has dropped only four sets all year, and like the previous two meetings the Belles in Bomber Blue jumped out to an early lead to sweep the series, winning the championship in straight sets, 25-14, 25-22 and 25-15.
Sydney Stoll was 43/43 setting with 7 assists, and 17/17 serving with 31 digs and 18 kills for the 20-3 Sectional Champion Belles in Bomber Blue, while Alex Kiess went 46/46 setting with 16 assists, and 10/10 serving with 16 digs and 7 kills. Kennedy Brigle was 16/16 serving, and Andrea Headley was 10/10 serving with 31 digs. Nicole Newell was 13/14 serving with 17 digs, Becky Fisk had 8 kills and Hannah Gutting had 2 kills and a quartet of rejections.
