ARCHBOLD – The Hilltop Lady Cadets took on the #2 seeded Lady Cardinals of Cardinal Stritch for the Division IV Sectional crown on October 20. Although they entered the bracket unseeded, the Ladies in Red gave Stritch all they could handle before bowing out, 23-25, 17-25 and 26-28.
Cierra Carpenter put up 3 aces, 11 digs and 4 kills for the Lady Cadets of Hilltop, with Jackie Smith posting 5 digs, an assist and a kill. Brittney Mocherman had an ace, a dig and 5 kills; Emily Armbruster had a block, 3 digs and 2 kills, and Taylor Collins rang up 2 digs and 6 kills. Kacie Hodson had an ace, 3 digs and 8 assists; Sam Lillemon had 2 kills and a couple blocked shots, and Kailey Creamer had an ace and 8 digs.
