PETTISVILLE – The Wauseon Lady Indians jumped out to a massive lead early on November 24 against Pettisville, ending the first quarter up 17 to 1. Pettisville battled back though. Going into half down 21 points, they shrunk that margin to just 11 by game’s end.
The Indians attempted only 3 more shots than the Lady Birds (44 to 41), but Wauseon made 22 (to shoot 50%) while Pettisville put in only 12 (to shoot 29%). Pettisville also committed more than twice as many turnovers as the Indians (15 to 6).
According to Pettisville’s Coach Jason Waldvogel, “Wauseon was the more aggressive team to start the game. We (Pettisville) played tentative until the second half when we felt our backs were against the wall. Anette stidham was tough for us to handle in the lane.”
She most certainly was, Stidham finished the night with 21 points to lead all scorers. Dana Fricke was the leading scorer for Pettisville with 12.
