Edward Pfister (1943-2022)

Edward A. Pfister, age 79, of Delta, passed away Thursday evening, September 15, 2022 at Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice in Defiance. He was born in Toledo on January 22, 1943.

Ed was a graduate of Springfield High School. He was a veteran having served with the U.S Navy and being honorably discharged in 1962.

On January 4, 1975, he married Barbara J. Scheele and she survives. Before retiring, Ed served 18 years as a quality control auditor with G.B Manufacturing in Delta.

He was blessed with a strong work ethic and passion for quality and detail. Ed was a past member of Fulton Lodge F&A.M in Delta and a former president of the Delta Swim Team.


Some of his fondest hobbies included fishing and playing competitive horseshoe pitching with his friends on Saturdays.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara Pfister, children, Scott (Brenda) Bushman, Kim (Dr. Carl) Chaney, Tobin (Dr. Barbara) Bushman; grandchildren, Michael (Diane) Bushman, Amber (Sonny) Cortez, Dr. Matt Chaney and Dr. Lauren Chaney; and great grandchildren, Carson and Riley Cortez.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Loren Pfister and Minnie (Butler) Pfister and great grandson, Cameron Cortez.


In honoring Ed’s wishes cremation will be cared for by Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta. There will be no public services.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice, 6817 St Rt 66 N, Defiance, Ohio in his name.

Arrangements have been entrusted with Barnes Funeral Chapel and Crematory, 5825 St Hwy 109 in Delta.
