Elizabeth-I.-McGee-WEBElizabeth I. McGee, age 74, of Toledo, peacefully passed away Saturday morning, January 23, 2016 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.  Elizabeth was born in Rucal, Nebraska on October 23, 1941 to the late Sam Candella and Dorothy (Bishop) Candella.  She was a graduate of Delta High School.

Elizabeth retired from Jeep Corp. after 30 years of service.  During her time at Jeep she worked as a security guard and later as a forklift operator.  She was a proud member of UAW and enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting and cooking.  Another hobby was site seeing, as she would often venture on road trips in her car taking in nature’s beauty along the way.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Antoinette Martin, Steven Skates, David (Therese) Skates, Marsha (Michael) Carrick and Michelle (Robert Spann) Mitchell; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; special friend, John Lichtey and her trusted canine companion, “Gus”.

Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Barnes Funeral Chapel, 5825 St. Hwy. 109 in Delta; where a funeral service honoring Elizabeth’s life will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, also at the funeral home.  Deacon Jerry Ziemkiewicz will be officiating.  Interment will follow at Winameg Cemetery in Delta.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Lucas County Humane Society, 827 Illinois Ave, Maumee, Ohio 43537 in her memory.  Online condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.barnesfuneralchapel.com.
