Elvira Ramirez (1936 – 2023)

Elvira Luna Ramirez, age 87, of Wauseon, passed away at her home on June 18, 2023 with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Cameron County, Texas on February 19, 1936 to the late Manuel and Enedina (Rangel) Luna. Elvira worked as a palletizer operator for the American National Can Company for over 25 years.

She was very active with St Caspar’s Catholic Church in Wauseon, where she was a proud member of the St. Caspar Guadeloupians.

Elvira enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing, dancing and bingo. She was proud of how social she was with her friends.

Elvira married Luis V Ramirez Sr on February 18, 1952 and he preceded her in death on March 17, 2010; together they were blessed with 7 children, six of whom survive, Elvira (Eddy) Arredondo, Rose Wilson, Dolores Reynolds, Elizabeth Diaz, Maria Garcia and Luisa Massey.

Elvira was preceded in death by her son, Luis Ramirez Jr, in 2009; siblings, Mike, Jose, Simon, Refugio and Juan Luna, Santos Perez, Guadalupe Reyna, Enedina Alonzo and Ramona Ocha and grandchildren, Charlene Osborne and Annie Diaz. Also left to cherish Elvira are 21 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at St. Caspar Catholic Church, 1205 N. Shoop Ave., Wauseon, Ohio 43567 with Father Todd Dominique officiating. Private interment will be at St. Caspar Catholic Cemetery in Wauseon.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing an expression of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to the family, care of Luisa Massey.
