Eric Dietsch (1966 – 2024)

Eric Doran Dietsch, 58, of Montpelier, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at his home.

He was born on May 19, 1966 in Montpelier to Frank H. and Barbara J. (Bavin) Dietsch.

Eric graduated from Montpelier High School in 1984 and after graduation he honorably served his country as a missile technician aboard the USS Daniel Webster in the United States Navy. On December 3, 1988 he married Jamie Follett in Stryker, Ohio and she survives.

Eric worked as a journeyman maintenance technician at ITW Tomco in Bryan for 30 years. He was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and Toledo Lady Rockets Basketball team and enjoyed maintaining his several fresh water fish aquariums.

Eric is survived by his loving wife, Jamie Dietsch; son Mikel (Kyra Wolfe) Dietsch of Bryan; two grandchildren, Zoey and Landyn; two siblings, Debra (Jeff) Wiles and brother, Roger (Trudy) Dietsch both of Montpelier; nieces and nephews, Kimberly Grubb, Tina (Ryan) Custer, Erin Dietsch, Evan (Lindsay) Dietsch and Elaine (Dylan) Krupp.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Dietsch.

A time to receive friends will take place on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 3-6 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier with military honors being presented by the Montpelier Veterans at 6pm.

Donations may be made in Eric’s memory to the Friends of the Montpelier Park. Condolences can be left for the family at www.thethompsonfuneralhome.com.
