Evergreen FFA attended the 97th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana October 22nd to the 25th. Evergreen FFA members attended the national convention alongside 70,000 other FFA members and guests from across the United States.

During the first two days, members toured MVP Dairy, J&M Manufacturing, and the National Air Force Museum located throughout Ohio. At MVP Dairy, the members learned about the aspects of an automatic dairy farm.

At J&M Manufacturing, the chapter learned about the production and assembly of grain carts. At the National Air Force Museum, members observed the different eras of aviation advancement.

On Wednesday evening, the FFA chapter attended the National FFA Rodeo. Members had the opportunity to watch different events and unique talents while in attendance at the rodeo.

The final two days of the National Convention, the chapter attended two general sessions with keynote speakers Dr. Temple Grandon and Kevin Wanzer. At the first general session, members had the opportunity to see Evergreen FFA Member, Molly Elvey play in the National FFA Band.

She was the only FFA member from the state of Ohio selected to play in the National FFA Band. During the career show and expo, students walked around the Indiana Convention Center and had the opportunity to network with agricultural companies and universities.

Members talked with various colleges from around the 50 states who have great agricultural programs. FFA members also attended student workshops where they learned about important life skills.

On Thursday evening, the chapter traveled to the Ohio FFA Buckeye Bash at Kelsay Farms near Whiteland, Indiana. There were FFA chapters from all across Ohio with over 1,000 members in attendance.

Members seized the opportunity to meet fellow members from other FFA chapters. On Friday morning, the Evergreen FFA chapter departed from the hotel.

They attended their last session and then headed home. Evergreen FFA would like to thank Wyse farms and Get-Er-Dug for sponsoring travel jackets for our FFA members and Monica Johnson and Cathleen Elvey for chaperoning the trip.
