Evergreen FFA Competes In Fulton County Soils Judging Contest

SOILS JUDGING … Evergreen FFA had 24 members compete in the Fulton County Soil Judging Contest.


PRESS RELEASE – On Thursday, September 12th, the Evergreen FFA had 24 members attend the Fulton County Soils Judging Contest. The contest was located in northeast Fulton County.

There were seven members who competed in the urban soils contest and 14 members who competed in the rural soils contest. At the competition, members determine evaluated soil properties such as, soil texture, landform, and soil drainage.

The top eight Evergreen FFA members in both rural and urban judging advanced to the district contest on September 29th near Pettisville, Ohio.

Members who qualified for the district contest in rural division include: Leona Bucher, Parker Dukeshire, Wyatt Eisel, Levi Emmons, Nate Emmons, AJ Gleckler, Lexi Johnson, and Landon Kiefer.


The members who qualified for districts in the urban division include: Gus Allendorf, Bella Henricks, Martin Patek, Maebelle Rettle, Liam Tibbits, Troy Walborn, and Wyatt White.

At the district soils contest, the rural team placed 15th, and the urban team placed sixth where they were announced as the district alternate for state.

The urban team has since been given the opportunity to compete at the state contest near Mount Gilead, Ohio on October 11th.
