December 13, 2024No Comments2 Mins Read

RECEIVING DEGREE … The Greenhands received their certificate and pin for their Greenhand degree.

PRESS RELEASE / THE VILLAGE REPORTER
RECIPIENTS … Alex Paulson, Jackson Huffman, Sydney Bull, Callie Wyse, Nate Emmons, Kate Wyse, and Molly Elvey were a few of the chapter degree recipients from the evening.

In mid-November, the chapter hosted its annual Greenhand and Chapter Degree Induction Night. This event is to induct first-year FFA members into the chapter. There were 30 newly inducted Greenhands.

Members met specific requirements such as learning about the FFA state and national organizations, creating a supervised agricultural experience and completing a Greenhand Degree application.

Upon being inducted into the chapter as Greenhands, they received a bronze pin and their official FFA jacket. The greenhand degree is the first degree members are able to receive when joining the National FFA Organization.

Later in the evening, the chapter degree was awarded to 39 second-year members. Some of the requirements include a minimum of 180 hours of systematic agricultural instruction, having operated and approved supervised agricultural experience and having a minimum of 10 hours of community service.

The Evergreen FFA would like to thank everyone who was able to join us in the celebration of these FFA members and their achievements.
