The Evergreen High School celebrated its 2025 Homecoming this past weekend, with festivities prior to the Vikings’ football matchup against Liberty Center. Parents, students, alumni, and community members filled Pifer Field to honor this year’s Homecoming Court and continue the annual tradition.

The program opened with a welcome from Student Council, which coordinated the week’s activities under the guidance of advisors Mr. Holliday and Mr. Langenderfer. Spirit Week featured themed dress-up days, decorated hallways, and competitions tied to this year’s theme, “World Tour.”

The first to be introduced were the freshman attendants. Lucia Abec, daughter of Theresa and Patrick Abec, participates in volleyball, basketball, and track, serves as Student Council President for the Freshman, and is active in the spirit squad.

She hopes to travel the world and work at Keller’s Builders. A fun fact is that she is skilled at the Orange Justice. Her escort was Troy Walborn, walking with his father, Troy Walborn, and Grandmother Patricia Wilson. Troy enjoys sports and fishing, hopes to attend Four County for Carpentry, and lists chicken Alfredo as his favorite food.

Brooklynn Berlonga, daughter of Brandie and Ronnie Berlonga, plays travel and school softball, participates in marching band, and plans to study sports media. She loves biscuits and says her favorite teachers are Mr. Lyons and Mr. Nichols.

Escort Daniel Hernandez, son of Miriam and Daniel Hernandez, is involved in soccer, basketball, and track, plans to study medicine, and recalls soccer team bonding as a favorite memory. A fun fact is that he can eat a slice of pizza in one bite.

Sophomore representatives were Lillian Eisel, daughter of Erica and Ben Eisel, and Landon Kiefer, son of Nora and Michael Kiefer. Lillian competes in volleyball, basketball, track, FFA, and student council. She hopes to one day become an astronaut. Landon is involved in soccer, wrestling, and FFA, and sees himself pursuing a trade career.

Joining them were London Colletti-Heil, daughter of Ali and Alan Liparoto, who plans to earn a master’s degree and move out of Ohio, and August Allendorf, son of Katie and Billy Allendorf. August plays basketball and golf, enjoys the outdoors, and once lived on Lake Erie for a decade.

The junior class attendants were Callie Wyse, daughter of Neil and Jamie Wyse, and Luke Woodring, son of Todd and Anna Woodring. Callie runs track, is in FCA and youth group, and remembers winning a life-size Hungry Hippos game. Luke competes in football, basketball, and track, serves as a class officer, and is active in SADD and FCA. His favorite teachers are Mr. Schmidt and Mr. Lutheran.

Also representing the juniors was McKenna Heinl, daughter of Kimberly and Archie Heinl, who plans to study occupational therapy and continue competitive horseback riding. She loves pasta, lists Mrs. Pierce and Mrs. Hennessey as favorite teachers, and envisions starting a business to help children with special needs.

Escort Brendan Rafferty, son of Mike and Jen Rafferty, plays golf and basketball, plans to attend college, and says his chosen superhero power would be teleportation.

Senior candidates included Ireland Smallman, daughter of Mindy and Terry Smallman, who is active in FCCLA, SADD, NHS, student council, and volleyball. She hopes to play in the WNBA, loves Happy Gilmore, and imagines herself in 10 years playing “Broken Window Serenade” on harmonica on the street.

Her escort, Xaviar Robinette, walked with his aunt, Gina Bissonette. He is in the marching band and student council, hopes to enter real estate, and recalls a backwards confetti cannon as a favorite memory.

The second senior pair was Kyla Risner, daughter of Liz Willis and Jay Risner, and Troy Manz, son of Matt and Deanna Manz. Kyla is active in soccer, basketball, spirit squad, student council, SADD, Art Club, and serves as an NHS reporter. She hopes to attend Mercy College for healthcare, recalls winning the district soccer championship, and admits she is afraid of ladders.

Troy plays basketball and baseball, plans to study biology on a pre-med track at the University of Toledo, has maintained perfect attendance since kindergarten, and sees himself training as an orthopedic surgeon in 10 years.

The final senior pair was Ellie Nash, daughter of Jamie and Rob Nash, and Quinten Eisel, son of Katie and Lance Eisel. Ellie plays soccer and runs track, plans to attend BGSU for elementary education, and lists Mr. Schmidt and Mr. Langenderfer as favorite teachers.

She loves Arby’s and recalls dressing up for Pee-Wee Night. Quinten participates in football, basketball, track, FCA, NHS, Foreign Language Club, and Yearbook. He plans to study criminal justice at BGSU, enjoys cinnamon rolls, and hopes to work for the FBI.

Last year’s King and Queen, Sean Rafferty and Taylor Johnson, returned to crown this year’s winners. They were joined by junior attendants Maggie Friess, daughter of Sarah Friess, and Patrick Langenderfer, son of Kate and Andy Langenderfer.

Maggie is active in softball, basketball, and soccer, and hopes to be both an art teacher and a veterinarian. Patrick plays soccer and baseball, wants to own a furniture store, and says his chosen powers would be invisibility, telekinesis, fighting, and laser eyes.

The evening concluded with the crowning of the 2025 Evergreen Homecoming Queen and King. This year, the honors went to Ellie Nash and Quinten Eisel.
