The Kids’ Outdoor Science Camp, held at 4-H Camp Palmer near Harrison Lake State Park in Fayette, Ohio, is scheduled for June 4 -7, 2016. This popular camp is open to youth having completed Grades 3 through 8.

Exciting programs will evolve around this year’s theme, ‘Every”BODY” Loves Science Camp’. Campers will explore different types of ‘bodies’ from the human body to river bodies, solar energy, forensics, animal habitats and more while enjoying outdoor adventures with a scientific focus. Campers will also have the opportunity to climb high ropes, zipline, hike, and swim, take part in shooting sports, or canoe along with a host of other traditional camp activities including crafts, evening dances and campfire programs.

There is a camp fee. Please call the Williams Soil and Water Conservation District for the cost of this camp and a registration form. The Williams SWCD is offering a $75.00 scholarship to the first 20 Williams County registered campers. The camp fee covers all program supplies for the four-day and three-night event including: meals, overnight accommodation, activities, a t-shirt if registered by May 18, and many great camp experiences.

Campers are supervised by a team of trained counselors, adult staff, and a nurse who stays at camp throughout the week. Delicious meals are provided family style and small cabins and bunk beds help to develop friendships and social skills.

The capacity of this camp is large but not unlimited. Early registration is very important to assure acceptance, as camp could fill up before the May 18th deadline.

The Kids’ Outdoor Science Camp is sponsored in cooperation with the Soil and Water Conservation Districts and Ohio State University Extension Office of Ohio. For further information or to obtain a registration form in Williams County, please call the Williams SWCD office at 419-636-2349 Ext 3 or 419-636-9395 Ext 3 or visit our website at www.williamsswcd.org.
