The regular meeting of the Fayette Local School District took place on December 16, 2024, at Fayette Local School.

During the meeting, Assistant Police Chief Bill McConnell recognized second-grade student Addisyn Fast. He presented the D.A.R.E. lesson to her classmates in the second grade.

The superintendent reported that a replacement plan for the Clevertouch devices is in development, as these devices are reaching the end of their lifespan.

The replacement process will begin in the elementary wing, where the curriculum heavily relies on touch screens.

Additionally, Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost has reintroduced the National Child Identification Program in Ohio, providing every second-grade student with a Child ID Kit. The school requested their kits earlier this month.

The Cardiac Emergency Response Plan (CERP) is intended to create a school and district policy for preparing and responding to cardiac emergencies.

The school nurse is currently working on this initiative in collaboration with Project ADAM, which offers a framework for schools to plan and develop their programs.

The high school principal reported that the Building Leadership Team is continuing to explore the RCA framework and its potential implementation in our school.

In December, team members visited Swanton Middle School to gain insights into their practices. Next month, the team will travel to Hicksville to observe how the RCA model functions in a K-12 setting.

The Winter Band Concert was a delightful showcase of our students’ talent and hard work. The 5th and 6th Grade Beginning Band performed their inaugural concert, demonstrating impressive progress and enthusiasm.

The junior high band presented an energetic selection of festive songs, while the high school band concluded the concert with “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.”

Additionally, the FFA teams recently finished the Parliamentary Procedure contests, with both novice and advanced groups placing 2nd at the county level and advancing to the district contests, where they earned 4th place plaques.

In November, officers supported the Fulton County Christmas Cheer Drive by helping to kick off the event at ACE in Wauseon. The proceeds and toys collected will benefit local families in need.

The elementary principal reported that Keagan from Kid Whisper spent three days training elementary coaches. The Dental Van is scheduled to be on-site on January 9 and 10, 2025.

Guidance counselors have begun the scheduling process for the fiscal year 2026. Mrs. Burgermeister, Mrs. Leininger, and Ms. Stockburger participated in a three-day training to become behavior coaches.

The board approved the following:

-Financials
-The annual membership with Ohio School Boards Association for January – December 2025 is $5,453 (membership cost based on the district’s adm FY23).-Neola Policy # 2265 Protections of Individual Beliefs, Affiliations, Ideals, or Principles of Political Movements and Ideology (Reference H.B. 214).
-Personnel
-Jennifer Wagner as President Pro-Tempore for the January 2025 Board of Education Organizational Meeting.
