Fayette Exits The D-IV Districts After Hard Fought Loss To Holgate

ARCHBOLD: February 27, 2014 – The Fayette Lady Eagles set out to try to improve on their D-IV District runner up post from last year, and their first task was to get past Holgate.

The Lady Tigers and the Lady Eagles played each other tough for four quarters and several lead changes, but Holgate has a long running tradition of unshakable leadership running through their team named Clady…in this case, Jillian Clady. The family name is synonymous with Holgate hoops, and despite the best efforts of Fayette’s Taylor Griffiths in the fourth period, there was simply too much Clady leadership for which to atone. A small advantage was widened by late free throws as Holgate sent Fayette packing by a 50-44 score.

The loss ends the Lady Eagles’ season at 17-6, and also ends the Lady Eagle careers of the heartbeat of a team that has overcome adversity all season long…seniors Madelyn Maginn and Jena Myers.

No individual stats were received pursuant to this game.
