Fayette Normal Memorial Library October Highlights

The Fayette Normal Memorial Library has a variety of programs planned for the month of October.

Anna Geis will offer a card making class on Saturday, October 17 from 10:00 to Noon. She will be showing participants how to make special occasion cards at this session. The cost of the class is $5.00. Call the library or stop in to register for this event.

The library will be hosting a Patron Appreciation Day on Monday, October 19 all day long. From 10:00-12:00, coffee and donuts will be provided. From Noon until five p.m., cheese and crackers will be available. From 5:00-8:00 p.m., the library will provide hot dogs and chips. A prize drawing to win a pizza and other small gifts will be held. Stop in any time during the day to take part in the festivities.

Teen Read Week will be celebrated the week of October 19-23. The library will have a guess the candy contest and trivia questions. The winner of the trivia questions contest will win the DVD Descendants. Small prizes and giveaways will be all week, so teens in grades 6-12, stop in and check out the fun for the week.
The After School Program this year will be held at the Fayette School Library from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Grades K-1 come on Tuesdays and grades 2-5 come on Thursdays. Students will need a note from a parent to stay after school for this program. October schedule: Oct. 6 & 8—Craft, Oct. 13 & 15—Bingo, Oct. 20 & 22—Movie, and Oct. 27 & 29—Halloween Craft.


Story Time is for children ages 2 to 5 not yet in Kindergarten. Children ages 2 and 3 are required to have an adult stay with them for the entire session. Story Time meets every Monday from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Each session includes a story and craft.
Family Fun Night will be on Friday, October 23 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Come dressed up in your favorite costume if you like and spend the evening watching the movie Casper. Popcorn and candy will be provided. Bring your pillows or whatever you want to be comfy and enjoy a Halloween movie! Please note that parents must stay with their children.
