On Thursday, January 12, 2017, the Fayette Opera House presented the first in a series of three Bean Creek Coffee Houses held in Fayette’s historic Opera House. The event was hosted by Steve and Tina Snider.

The evening kicked off with a performance by host, Steve Snider, followed by great performances by Genevieve Rose (Randall) Quillet (Morenci), Rod Eckley (West Unity), Kirk Beck and Mike McRobbie (Archbold), Rebecca Loveless (Fayette), Gene Zenz (Lyons), Angie Bird (Defiance), James Crocker (Napoleon), and Paul Coy (Defiance) with Jack Edwards (Fayette).

It was an enjoyable evening filled with a delightful mix of music and song presented by local performers. A new feature added this year is a concessions stand which is offered to coffee house patrons to help support the Bean Creek Coffee House Series. From its inception, admission to the Coffee House is free of charge.

The second Coffee House will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 beginning at 6:30 pm with more wonderful music and performances by local artists.

On Thursday, March 16, 2017, beginning at 6:30 pm, the series will end with the Coffee House hosting the “You’re Full of Baloney Night” (or as some of us affectionately refer to it as “Pie-loney Night”.

The event celebrates a mid 20th Century locally produced product known as “Fayette Baloney”. While the receipt has long vanished, our taste for home-made and locally crafted baloney has not. For the better part of the past decade, the Opera House has hosted “Your Full of Baloney Night” to recognize this unique product. You’re Full of Baloney Night features great local talent, excellent baloney and homemade pies, a combination hard to top!

With a multitude of homemade bologna being offered as well as a variety of homemade pies for dessert the concert has became a culinary event of great importance in the region.

If you make homemade bologna and would like to participate, please contact Fayette Opera House at 419-237-3111. Judging for the “best” bologna will be held at the end of the evening. The Coffee House performers will be upstairs on the “big” stage that evening for your listening enjoyment.

Please mark your calendars for an evening of great music and performances by talented artists from right here in our area.
