December 15, 2014Updated:December 31, 2020No Comments2 Mins Read

(December 11th, 2014) – FAYETTE: The game was close until the final period of play, when Fayette closed out the game.

The Stryker boys trailed throughout the game, but stayed within 6 points at the end of each of the first three quarters. Then the Eagles built some separation between the two squadrons, earning a 50-38 victory against a strong Buckeye Border Conference opponent.

At the conclusion of the opening stanza, Fayette had established a 16-10 lead. The Panthers were able to reduce their deficit to 4 by halftime, heading into the locker room down 29-25. Little changed in a low scoring third period. Going into the fourth quarter, the Eagles enjoyed a 36-30 advantage. Then, Fayette was able to expand their lead to 12 points before the final buzzer sounded.

Parker Ruffer led the comeback efforts for the Panthers. He produced 14 points in the contest. Tanner Clingamen added 11 more to the Stryker total. Brannan Woolace was responsible for 8 of the team’s points.

Fayette’s scoring was a bit more balanced, as 4 of their 5 points producers reached double digits. Wade Burkholder scored 14 points to lead his team. Skylar Lantz was close behind with 12 points. Jared Seller and Koby Biddix each contributed 11 points to the Fayette cause.

Versatility in scoring production played a key role in holding Stryker at bay for Fayette.
