The Fulton Township Trustees held their meeting on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.
The meeting began with the Pledge of Allegiance and approval of the minutes along with payment vouchers and checks before trustees moved into other township business.
At approximately 4:15 p.m., trustees joined a Zoom call with representatives from CIMS, or Cemetery Information Management System, to discuss cemetery mapping and record management for the township’s three cemeteries.
During the presentation, company representatives explained the history of the company, the software they provide, and how their system could be used to map cemetery plots and track burial and ownership records.
Trustees were shown how the system works and were told the software includes three different tiers of service. It was also stated that York Township has been using the company since 2023.
Discussion included scanning cemetery records and deeds as part of converting the township’s existing paper records into a digital system.
The possibility of using ground penetrating radar to confirm burial locations was also discussed. Representatives said the cost for that service is typically around $15,000 per acre.
The township’s cemeteries cover roughly 10.9 to 12 acres. The idea of the ground penetrating radar was put aside for now due to the cost. Additional pricing would also be needed for scanning deed records and other documents.
CIMS representatives indicated they would provide updated pricing within about a week.

Trustees also discussed pricing they previously received from Lazarus for similar cemetery mapping services, which was estimated at around $12,000 plus a yearly fee, nearly half the cost of CIMS. That proposal had been discussed during the previous meeting.
Following the cemetery presentation, the meeting moved on to other township matters around 5:15 p.m.
Trustees discussed the condition of fencing at the AI cemetery, noting the fencing is aging and may need to be replaced. Pricing for possible repairs or replacement is expected to be obtained.
The board also approved a resolution accepting the county engineer’s proposals for bids related to upcoming road work, including seal coating work at AI Lane.
Additional discussion included a request from Jeremy Gillen of Delta seeking letters of support for a proposed fire station expansion project. Trustees also reviewed the sheriff’s report for the township.
Correspondence received by the township was then reviewed. Trustees noted an email from the Ohio Department of Taxation regarding lodging tax reporting requirements and also reviewed an email regarding regional efforts to market Northwest Ohio as a potential location for future data center development.
The correspondence outlined how economic development organizations in the region, including Regional Growth Partnership, are working with site selection consultants and technology companies to promote available land, utilities, and infrastructure that could support large-scale data center projects.
The message indicated that Northwest Ohio has been identified as a potential area of interest for technology companies seeking locations for new facilities.
Links were included in the email directing local officials to marketing materials and informational websites being used to present the region to prospective companies.
These materials highlight factors such as available development sites, transportation access, power availability, and regional partnerships aimed at attracting technology investment.
Trustees reviewed the information during the meeting and ultimately filed the email as correspondence since no action was required by the township at this time.
Trustees also discussed OPWC information and noted a May 29 deadline to pass a resolution for next year’s project funding.
Additional discussion included a list of potential county engineer projects for 2026 and a property within the town ship that may require nuisance enforcement and possible notices.
Before adjournment, trustees approved $550 for a tractor attachment. The meeting was then adjourned at 5:39 p.m.
