FAYETTE: February 13,2014- Fayette Senior Madelyn Maginn, a member of the 2013-2014 Fayette Lady Eagle Varsity Basketball Team, was honored this evening at Senior Night for her career as a Fayette Eagle. However, outside of school, Madelyn has already taken steps towards beginning a new career after high school, as a member of the United States Army National Guard.

Madelyn enlisted in the National Guard on February 13, 2013 prior to the end of her junior year. She reported for Army Basic Training on June 17,2013 at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri and graduated on August 30, 2013. After completion of this school year and graduation, Madelyn will report to Ft. Leonard Wood once again on August 14, 2014; this time to undergo training for her military occupation specialty as a member of the Military Police.

This reporter learned from Madelyn her plans for the future while talking to her during Tuesday evening’s ABC 13 charity basketball event held at Fayette High School. In conversation with Ms. Maginn, it was very evident how enthusiastic she was for the important responsibilities she has signed up for. While discussing the training she has already undergone and the training she will be completing this summer, it was obvious how deeply enthused and excited she was about her service. She will excel in whatever challenges are laid out before her; that is her character and there is no doubt she will succeed.

From the staff here at The Village Reporter, we would like to congratulate Madelyn for the accomplishments she has achieved up to this point, and would like to convey a heartfelt “thank you” for her service to our country. We wish you the best of luck in the future and hope you encounter success in every challenge you take on!
