FACEBOOK PAGE … Council listens as Village Administrator Bryan Stambaugh talks about having a village Facebook page in order to keep residents more up to date in real time.

The Fayette Village Council held its meeting on Wednesday, February 19th, starting at 6:00 p.m. with a prayer followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
The council began by approving the minutes from the previous regular meeting, the special session, and the committee meeting. They also addressed the payment of outstanding bills.
Next, the Council heard the mayor’s report, which included information about various community events scheduled for the upcoming month.
-The CED Learning Programs are now Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-5:30 p.m.
-February 22: The Real John King comedy tour at 7:00 p.m. at the Opera House.
-February 23: Bull Thistle meeting at 7:00 p.m.
-February 25: Library after school (K-2nd grade) from 3:15-4:00 p.m. with story time at 6:00 p.m.
-February 27: Library after school (3-4th grade) from 3:15-4:00 p.m.
-March 1: Inside Out 2 from 10:30-12:00 p.m. at Library
-March 2: Library after school (3-4th grade) from 3:15-4:00 p.m.
-March 4: Library after school (K-2nd grade) from 3:15-4:00 p.m. with story time at 6:00 p.m.
-March 5: Athletic Booster Meeting at 6:30 p.m.
-March 6: Super Supper at 6:00 p.m. at Opera House
-March 9: Legion Drive-thru Dinner at 11:30 a.m.
-March 10: CDC meeting at 6:00 p.m. in HS Art Room
-March 13: Library after school (3-4th grade) from 3:15-4:00 p.m. with Crochet & Knit Night at 6:00 p.m.
-March 16: Garden Beautification meeting from 5:00-6:00 p.m.
-March 19: Methodist Church Community Meal at 5:00 p.m.
The administrator’s report included the announcement that the ARS cleanup date has been scheduled for June 14th. Residents will be allowed to place items at the curb for pickup.
Additionally, the village will offer a drive-thru service near the compost facility on September 6th, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, for residents to dispose of their items. Please remember that certain items are prohibited during both cleanup events.
The discussion is about the village creating a Facebook page to partner with the “What’s Happening in Fayette” page and their village website.
“The thought of this is with this, it will enable us at the office and DPW building to get out more business related things in real time,” said village administrator Bryan Stambaugh.
It would be more specific to the residents, and the village would like to help them use the website for online billing, zoning questions, and forms.
Stambaugh stated that he does not feel that the website is utilized very much, and things like boil advisories could be communicated to the public more quickly. Council voted to approve the Facebook page for the village.
The fiscal officer’s report was then approved before council approved paying of the bills in the amount of $122,327.24.
Council then moved to suspend the rules and pass Resolution 2025-02, a resolution authorizing the village administrator to enter into a capital improvement community park, recreation/conservation project pass-through grant agreement with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
Council then approved the following legislative actions:
-Sherwood Bank Signers Jessica Swander, Deanna Kuebeck, Bryan Stambaugh, and Dave Borer for accounts ending 3473, 0023, with sweep accounts ending in 2299 and 2306.
-Approval of Sherwood Letter and Agreements.
-Approval to open an escrow account with Sherwood Bank for Water Project Retainage for Bryan Excavating. Current Retainage at $360,622.42.
-Approval of application to release retainage from Grant Funding in the amount of $360,622.42 to be put into escrow.
With nothing further, the meeting was adjourned at 6:27 p.m. The next regular scheduled meeting with be Wednesday, March 19th at 6:00 p.m.
