The students at Fayette High School held their 2020 Homecoming on Saturday evening with the presentation of the Homecoming Court, two boys’ basketball games followed by the Homecoming Dance and things could not have gone better.
A packed house enjoyed the crowning of Homecoming Queen and King, Jillian Figgins and Tanner Lemley, then watched the Eagles defeat the visiting Liberty Center Tigers 41-38 in the Junior Varsity game and 55-50 in the Varsity contest and the students spent the rest of the evening dancing the night away. The Homecoming Court is as follows:
The Freshman Attendant and Escort for this year are Hannah Kovar and Tyler Tussing. Hannah is the daughter of Terry and Jean Kovar. Hannah is involved in Basketball, Track, Cross Country, the Country Club 4H Club, and Our Lady of Mercy’s youth group. Her favorite hobby is reading and she enjoys watching the movie Captain America: The First Avenger. Hannah loves to eat pasta, listen to all types of music, and go to Social Studies with Mrs. Altstaetter. Her favorite color is dark green, favorite team is Ohio State, and favorite sport is track. Hannah enjoys the Fall because it is Livestock Show season.
Tyler is the son of Jennifer Nine and Randy Tussing. Tyler’s school activities include cross country, track, basketball, pep band, and student council. His favorite hobbies are gaming and card throwing. Tyler loves the movie How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, the color blue, and his favorite food, pierogis. His favorite sport is cross country and he likes the season Autumn. He enjoys listening to music by Imagine Dragons and going to his favorite class, Physical Science.
The 2020 Sophomore Attendant and Escort are Emma Leininger and Owen Lemley. Emma is the daughter of Nick and Ruby Leininger. She is involved in cross country, basketball, track, softball, FFA, MYF, F.U.M.Y., Spanish Club, Student Council, and FCA. Emma loves watching Riverdale, eating steak, and spending time outside in the summer. Her favorite color is purple and her favorite sport is cross country. Emma enjoys her Food Science class and listening to county music or music by T-pain. Her favorite team is the Cleveland Indians and her favorite memory was being in the car with Gracee when she got pulled over for speeding in the school zone and laughing about it.
Emma’s escort was Owen Lemley. Owen is the son of Jared and Kandi Lemley. He participates in basketball, baseball, golf, archery, FFA, F.U.M.Y., Band, and Student Council. Owen is also the Vice president of his class. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and participating in his favorite sport, golf. Owen also enjoys watching Caddyshack, listening to country music, and eating meat lovers pizza. His favorite color is salmon and favorite team is the Fayette Eagles. Biology with Mr. Sorrell is his favorite class and Owen loves spring because its Turkey Hunting season and all of the vibrant colors.
The Junior Attendant and Escort are Brianna Brubaker and Brandon Brown. Brianna is the daughter of Robert and Peggy Brubaker. She participates in FFA, 4-H, High School Rodeo, NHS, volleyball, and track. Brianna enjoys wrestling with her dogs, training horses, and watching Law and Order SVU. She loves eating Pringles and listening to all types of music. Brianna’s favorite color is purple and favorite team is Ohio State. She enjoys her Metal Fabrication with Mrs. Schultz and the season Fall. Brianna’s favorite sport is rodeo, which she participates in throughout the year with her horses.
Brandon is the son of Joe and Shannon Brown. He is a member of the Fayette FFA. His favorite color is blue and his favorite sport is football. He enjoys driving around with his friends and eating pepperoni and mushroom pizza. Brandon’s likes watching the TV show Lucifer and the Fast and Furious movies. Brandon enjoys listening to rap, hip hop, and country music and watching his favorite team, the Michigan Wolverines. His favorite teachers are Mrs. Schultz and Mrs. Schaefer and his favorite season is Winter.
This year’s Senior Attendant and Escort are Mckenna Shade and Caden Colegrove. Mckenna is the daughter of Sara Stiles, Sam Stiles, and Aaron Shade. She is involved in Student Council, FFA, and in the past, she has played volleyball. Mckenna enjoys sleeping, drawing, mudding, and eating Chinese food. Her favorite things to watch are Grey’s Anatomy and American Sniper. Mckenna likes summer, sad music, and the color blue. Her favorite sport is volleyball and she enjoys math with Mr. Worley. Mckenna’s favorite memory at Fayette is falling off the bus in 6th grade and spraining her ankle. After graduation, she plans on joining the union.
Caden is the son of Ryan Colegrove; and April and Brad Smith. He is involved in cross county, track, basketball, NHS, Student Council, and FFA. Caden enjoys playing sports, playing video games, and watching the Mandalorian. His favorite food is pizza, favorite color is red, and favorite teams are Ohio State and the Phoenix Suns. Caden enjoys track, summer, and classes with his favorite teacher, Mrs. Killam. Caden’s favorite memory from his time at Fayette is waking up every day and coming to school with a smile on his face. Caden plans to join the Navy after he graduates from Fayette High School.
Your 2020 Homecoming Queen is Jillian Figgins. Jillian is the daughter of Mike and Daun Figgins. She is involved in basketball, cheer, Student Council, NHS, FFA, and cross country, which is her favorite sport. Jillian enjoys sleeping, shopping, doing artsy activities, and watching her favorite movie, Sixteen Candles. Jillian enjoys eating Totino’s pizza and Chipotle and her favorite color is purple. She likes Summer, listening to pop music, and her favorite teacher is Mrs. Schaefer. Jillian’s favorite TV show is Brooklyn Ninety-Nine and her favorite actress is Anna Kendrick. Her favorite memory from her four years at FHS was when Mr. Hylander tried to be nice for her birthday and bought her an overpriced piece of cake from a gas station that turned out to be moldy. After graduation, Jillian plans to attend Bowling Green State University and majoring in Advertising.
Tanner is the son of Jered and Kandice Lemley. He participates in basketball, baseball, archery, golf, F.U.M.Y., and FFA. Tanner enjoys hunting, fishing, trapping, and eating cereal. He likes Fall, the movie “The Bench Warmers”, and the color light blue. Tanner’s favorite sport is basketball and he enjoys his Metal Fabrication class with Mrs. Schultz. His favorite team is the Fayette Eagles. Tanner’s favorite memory is going to districts for golf this past fall. After graduation, Tanner plans to join the Pipefitters Union.
This year’s flower girl is Josie Lynn Storrs and crown bearer is Tatem Downing. Josie is the daughter of Jeran and Jennifer Storrs. She is involved in the Shoe Tying club and this year she received the Eagle Award for being respectful. Josie’s favorite things to do are to craft, watch YouTube kids and do yoga. Her favorite movie is Spy Kids and her favorite color is purple. Josie likes bread, waffles, and chips and salsa. She likes T-ball, piano music, and Summer because that’s when her birthday is and she can swim. Josie enjoys math and her favorite teachers are Mrs. Beck and Mrs. Rupp. Her favorite team is the Fayette Eagles. Josie’s favorite memory from Fayette Elementary school is the Bouncy House day. In the future, Josie wants to play basketball, learn how to make pottery, and learn how to use chopsticks.
Tatem is the son of Tyler and Mariah Downing. He is involved in T-ball, the Shoe Tying Club, and Peewee Cow Showman. Tatem’s favorite thing to do is ride his 4-wheeler and he enjoys watching Garfield and Transformers. Tatem’s favorite things to eat are chocolate and strawberries and his favorite class is Science with Mrs. Beck. He enjoys football, Fall, Summer and the song Old Town Road. Tatem’s favorite color is red, favorite actor is Spiderman, and favorite teams are Ohio State and the Fayette Eagles. Tatem’s favorite memory at Fayette Elementary is playing with his friends, especially Kole, Dylan, and Josie. In the future, Tatem wants to be a construction worker and go to a water park.
Last year’s Homecoming King and Queen Porter Maginn and Sara Fields. Porter is currently working at Sauder Woodworking in Archbold. Sara is currently attending Northwest State Community College as a transfer module and plan to transfer to the University of Toledo in the spring of 2021, majoring in psychology.
