Unemployment numbers for February 2025 were previously released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services. The latest data indicates unemployment has stayed mostly the same.

For Fulton County, the unemployment rate in February was 6.6%, showing a modest decrease from January’s rate of 6.7%. Williams County also experienced a slight improvement, reporting a rate of 5.4% in February compared to 5.5% in January.

Neighboring counties showed mixed results, with Henry County reducing its unemployment rate significantly from 8.5% in January down to 7.1% in February. Lucas County also saw a small improvement, moving from 7.2% in January to 7.1% in February.

Defiance County’s unemployment rate stood at 4.8% for the month, while Wood County reported a 5.1% unemployment rate. Ottawa County, which has been reporting higher numbers, came in at 9.3%, down slightly from January’s 9.5%.

At the state and national levels, February brought small improvements as well. Ohio’s unemployment rate remained relatively steady, registering at 5.4%, compared to 5.3% in January.

The overall unemployment rate for the United States was also slightly lower, decreasing from January’s 4.6% to 4.5% in February.
