SAFETY LESSONS … The Evergreen FFA hosted an Agricultural Safety Series with the Evergreen Junior High students at the beginning of February. The safety series program was presented by FFA members to Evergreen’s fifth through seventh graders. During the two-day event, junior high students learned about aspects of agriculture and how to stay safe in these areas in their own lives. The topics that were covered through hands-on activities included: weed eater safety, livestock handling safety, and meat preparation and consumption safety. Eighteen Evergreen FFA members participated in the presentations with 300 junior high students. This event has developed into a yearly program for the Evergreen Junior High students. Above, FFA members (left to right) Lyla, Bella, Kirstyn, and Gus present to junior high students about meat preparation and consumption safety.
