Holiday City welcomed its annual Fishing Show on February 19, 2022. The show attracts vendors from all over the country.

Currently five states are represented, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana.

The energy and excitement felt when entering the atrium was contagious. Newcomer host Cody Treat, said the show draws a lot of attention with approximately 150 tables set up to house the vendors.

The show features fishing equipment for sale, as well as antique equipment on display. Some of the equipment dates back to the early 1900s making it rare and hard to find.

On display was a boat motor made in the early 1900s in Montpelier. According to “A Standard History of Williams County Ohio”, a book written by Charles Bowersox and published in 1920. The motor was made by AJ Krider.

This motor was designed with a rope pulley on top of the fly wheel. The magneto is directly driven by an extension of the crank shaft, and held on by three metal straps.

Krider is also well known for building and designing a gas engine, which has been pronounced one of the best in its kind.

The antiques however, are not the only reason to visit the show. Many participants have been coming to this show since day one.

Imagine all the stories they have to share and people they’ve met through the years. This some vendors say is the reason to keep coming back.

Although the product may attract customers, it’s the people and the relationships built over the last 25 years that keeps this show going strong.
