The Florence Township Fire Department is under new administration, as Allyn Luce moves up to the same position once held by his father, Jerry Luce.

Passionate about servicing the community, Chief Luce is excited to get to work heading fire protection for residents.

Growing up watching his father around the firehouse, Allyn got to see the hard work and dedication expected from firefighters and has been a part of the fire department for as long as he can remember.

It is only natural that now he takes up the helm, and shares his wisdom gained throughout his fire-involved life with those that serve under him.

When not at the firehouse, Chief Luce can be found at either Altenloh, Brinck & Co. US, Inc., where he is founder and chief operating officer, or his Edon residence, where he serves as a loving husband and father.

He and his wife, Makenzie, and their two children, 15-year-old and 12-year-old Carter and Sidney, are all born and raised in Edon, so it only makes sense for Chief Luce to continue protecting the area he loves to call home.

Those who are wanting to contact the department (in case of emergency always call 911) may reach out to Chief Luce via email at chief40ftfd@gmail.com, or call (419) 272-2100.

Those interested in helping to expand the 28-person team through volunteer efforts are encouraged to reach out with questions and for information regarding training requirements.
