PRESS RELEASE – Construction on the Four County Career Center expansion project continues to move forward and remains on schedule for completion ahead of the 2026–27 school year.
Significant progress was made this past fall with the completion of most sitework, including the installation of new asphalt parking lots to replace areas impacted by the building addition.
More than 24,000 tons of stone were delivered and placed to create a new subbase for both the parking areas and the expanded facility.
The building has taken clear shape, with all exterior walls now erected. Crews are actively installing brick, stone, insulated metal panels, and window systems. Inside the building, work continues on plumbing, mechanical, and electrical rough-ins.
Severe winter weather conditions in late fall temporarily halted work on the roof and required adjustments to the roofing system.
Four County Career Center submitted a variance request to the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission to transition from a fully adhered roofing system, which cannot be installed in cold temperatures, to a Rhinobond roofing system that allows for cold-weather installation and provides enhanced longevity and performance. Work on the roof has resumed this week.
Looking ahead, construction crews will continue pouring the remaining interior concrete floor slabs this month.
The building is expected to be fully enclosed in the coming weeks as roofing and overhead door installations are completed.
Upcoming phases also include interior wall and ceiling framing, painting of interior ceilings and walls, and the installation of plumbing, mechanical, and electrical finishes.
Four County Career Center appreciates the continued support of students, families, and the community as this important project progresses and expands opportunities for career and technical education.
